Stone Free Festival, London’s biggest festival of classic rock returns to the O2 Arena, London on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June with an absolutely astonishing line-up. If the news of the brutal 2018 “Chaos and Carnage” US tour* wasn’t enough to wet your bloodthirsty appetites, tech titans Archspire have also announced the first European dates as part of their ongoing ‘Relentless Mutation’ world tour. The first EU leg starts Febuary 8, and sees them supporting Despised Icon, with additional support from Malevolence and Vulvodynia. Soon after they will embark on their first-ever Japanese tour with Obscura, Exocrine and Xaon before commencing on to the US. See below for full confirmed dates and stay tech!

This month’s state is Nebraska!

With each State of the Art segment, we explore bands from cities all over the country, but what happens when a band and city are one in the same? Not sure what I mean?  Omaha, Nebraska’s Arson City fit that description well with an elaborate vision of each member portraying a fictional city’s select citizens: The Mayor (Patrick Michael Wilson) taking care of vocals, The Doctor (Mark Beckenhauer) on rhythm guitar, The Enforcer (Matt Denker) on drums, The Dealer (Matt Dibaise) on lead guitar, and The Con (Matt Oliver) on bass.  Arson City was constructed in mid-2013 when members of several local bands around the Omaha area came together for a collaboration that eventually became the giant it is today. Looks like 2018 is MASTODON‘s glory year! Having won the coveted Grammy Award for “Best Metal Performance”, it seems the band is having a lot of fun already. MASTODON fans are still reeling from the exuberance of the Grammy win, and they have one more reason to celebrate or look forward to. Especially the US fans. Well, MASTODON along with fellow rockers PRIMUS have joined forces for a massive 45 date United States tour, starting this summer on the May 6th, at Morrison, CO and extending up to Jul 7th, at Phoenix, AZ.

Hey there random rocker/metalhead! It’s always good to indulge yourself in uncharted territories, ain’t it? So today, I bring to thee from the other half of the world, across oceans, from the land of bread and fashion, hard rockers LUMBERJACKS. So, three years after the release of their debut EP and after some months of hard work but also tons of gigs along with bands such as Electric Mary and Bukowski, French heavy-rockers LUMBERJACKS are about to release their debut full-length album ‘Alone?‘ coming out on May 5th on CD & digital formats.

 In the meantime, the quintet just pulled the curtains off on a brand new single called “Mystery Light“. The track and the entire album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Edgar Chevallier at Lower Tones Place Studio. So today we bring to you the single stream which you can find attached below.

Exit Empire is a three piece post hardcore band currently based in the Czech Republic founded in 2016 by two brothers Timmy Ruzicka on guitar and vocals, Premysl Ruzicka, Jr. on drums and their best friend Rafael Eimut on lead vocals. The band is planning to make the move to the U.S. particularly Los Angeles and tour both the U.S. and the world. Exit Empire  are a dyi band and have even kept the production of their videos within the band. They dropped their debut music video “Ignore Me” in May of 2017. The next music video “Shut Up” was released a few months later in July. These songs are taken from their self-titled debut album released in October 2017. Both audio and video is produced by the band at Exit Empire Studios, keeping every bit of creative control under their belt. In the bands mission statement they have said “We create music that moves people, both in heart and at a concert. Our goal is to achieve greatness no band from Czech Republic tried to before. Through sharing a complete dedication and passion within the band and with our fans, we believe it’s possible. Our songs tell personal stories through the sound of modern alternative metal. It’s full of heavy riffs and singable melodies, with electro background for epic atmosphere that feels bigger than life.” Exit Empire has some tour dates coming up one of which includes American rap rockers Crazytown and UK based band Death Remains if you are in the Czech Republic make sure to get out and see these guys live.

STONE SOUR official Facebook page stated a few hours ago that, guitarist Josh Rand won’t be able to join the band for the Canada and United States tour, as he has checked into a treatment center. While reports right now are not sure of what exact type of addiction (if any) the guitarist is trying to overcome, but as per the official statement, it says that he “will be back as soon as possible“. Hoards of fans took to social media and wished Josh’s well being. Josh has contributed in every STONE SOUR album since the 2000s.
