You could say that Bad Wolves is a new band, the name is new but the musicians that make up the band are industry veterans that have been around the block and have been an integral part of successful bands. Bad Wolves includes Tommy Vext on vocals who is no stranger to the spotlight. The singer recently filled in for Ivan Moody on one of Five Finger Death Punch’s recent tours and was also a member of Divine Heresy with Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares, the reunion of Snot reunion, Westfield Massacre, and even formed his namesake group Vext. The remaining members of the band are just as iconic including drummer John Boecklin formerly of Devildriver and I Of Tongues which essentially has become Bad Wolves, guitarist Doc Coyle of ex-God Forbid and Vagus Nerve which he started in 2015. Doc Coyle has also been a hired gun and filled in for various bands like Lamb Of God, Trivium, Darkest Hour, Unearth and also Westfield Massacre. In addition to adding his skills on stringed instruments Doc has also aided bands like Hatebreed and Body Count with songwriting. Chris Cain also on guitar who is from Bury Your Dead. Rounding out the band is ex-In This Moment, Vimic bassist Kyle Konkiel. In all likelihood you have probably seen some of these tenured rockers perform in the past. Now they are all entangled together creating this beast of a group named Bad Wolves. The band recently took the top spot for the #1 rock song on Apple Music and topped the Billboard charts with their cover of The Cranberries “Zombie”. The song was released just days after The Cranberries vocalist Dolores O’Riordan passed away. Initially Dolores was supposed to be featured on the track as well, but her life ended tragically before that could happen. The band is also donating all proceeds of the songs profits to O’Riordan’s children in her honor. In addition to that cover the band has also released the single “Toast to the Ghost” which will be on the bands debut album which is set to release in the summer of this year. Continue reading →
Normally a fierce hard rock/grunge group out of Palestine, Texas, BLACKTOP MOJO has put out a new and refreshing soft acoustic single, called “Underneath“. Treading the path of what majority of grunge rock bands do, that is, release a soft and heart touching number amidst the heavy hitting characteristic sound, the quintet has managed to pull off an excellent emotional single. Despite it being the norm, the song is definitely not just another brick in the wall(you see what I did there!). The song is about personal suffering and damage and it perfectly encapsulates the message it brings forth. Here’s drummer Nathan breaking down the meaning of the song for you,
“I’ve seen firsthand how bitterness and anger can destroy a person from the inside out. This song is about that, but also saying “I understand what happened, and I’m sorry you went through the painful things that brought you to this point” Keep your heart free , forgive people even if they don’t deserve it.“

From Ashes To New have released their single and lyric video for “Crazy,” premiering the song on SiriusXM Octane. “Crazy” is the first single off of their upcoming LP, The Future, releasing April 20th via Better Noise Records / Eleven Seven Music.
From Ashes to New, out of Pennsylvania include founder/ rapper/programmer Matt Brandyberry and guitarist Lance Dowdle with new additions- vocalist Danny Case and drummer Mat Madiro. The band has gone through a few changes since they ended their last tour in December 2016.
“Crazy” is the first look into the sophomore album and is an anthem for the people feeling caught in the middle of a situation and confused by it all. And honestly who hasn’t been there? “Crazy” was recorded at Atrium Audio with producers Grant McFarland and Carson Slovak (August Burns Red) and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Korn, Lamb Of God)
“Crazy is, at its core, a song about someone or something driving you absolutely out of your mind and feeling unable to walk away from it. I feel like everyone at one point or another experiences that in their lives” states Danny ”For me personally, I dated someone for a very short period of time and it felt like everything I said and did was wrong. I honestly thought I was losing my mind because I knew it was a bad situation, but I just felt like I couldn’t walk away. I think having that life experience really helped when we sat down and wrote the lyrics”

In November Stone Temple Pilots announced their new singer Jeff Gutt with a performance at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Founding Stone Temple Pilots members brothers Dean DeLeo (guitar), Robert DeLeo (bass), drummer Eric Kretz and late frontman Scott Weiland found worldwide fame following the 1992 release of their debut album ‘Core’. After their subsequent 2002 breakup, several reunions with Scott Weiland took place up until his ultimate firing from the group in 2013. Linkin Park frontman, the late Chester Bennington, was a member of STP from 2013 to 2015. The band took their time finding a new front man taking tens of thousands of audition from singers around the world. It turns out none of those auditions made the cut as they selected Gutt who was a contestant on the tv show The X Factor and he didn’t actually audition until the band reached out to him. The band has numerous festival appearances lined up this summer including Welcome To Rockville, Rock On The Range, Carolina Rebellion, Northern Invasion as well as a full U.S. Tour. ACT OF DEFIANCE are roughly three years old and they are already killing it with full length releases and major headlining tours all across the United States. And why not, when a band has the services of talents like Chris Broderick (ex-Megadeth), Shawn Drover (ex-Megadeth), Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall, Times Of Grace), and Henry Derek (Scar The Martyr). With their debut album having come out in 2015 titled, ‘Birth And The Burial‘, right after Shawn and Chris’ departure from Megadeth in 2014, the band is back again on the road. But this time around they will be out there promoting their all new album, ‘Old Scars, New Wounds‘, that released via Metal Blade Records in September of 2017. Following month, the quartet will be embarking on a headlining tour for three weeks starting on the 1st of March at Brick By Brick, San Diego, CA. The support band featuring on the bill are Shattered Sun, a metalcore act from Alice, Texas, who will also be touring in support of their latest album, ‘The Evolution of Anger‘. 21st July 2017 saw its release.
ZHORA‘s sophomore release ‘Ethos, Pathos, Logos‘ that came out last October, somehow went under our radar. Now that we have found about it, we’re gonna serve you with some hot and fresh new music video that just got off the grill. ZHORA has unveiled their new music video for “Riverchrist” off of their most recent album. The track is intense, the vocals doesn’t fail to grab you by your throat, the riffs just does justice to the genre sludge metal, it’s heavy and has a lot of fuzz going on in it. What is also interesting is the video is animated, something that reminds me of my childhood when I’d grab a popcorn bowl and be hooked on to Cartoon Network. But this one is like gore and un-tasteful for the 10 year old kid in me. Anyways, now that you’re into all things dark, who doesn’t like a bit of blood and repulsive stuff, eh!?
