It will be taking place in Savannah, Georgia at the The Gardens at Ships of The Sea Maritime Museum. The festival boasts “All Underground Rock All Day.” It also will have food trucks, craft beer, art and fun activities. This would actually mark the 9th A.U.R.A. Fest. The festival ran yearly from 2001 – 2004, and then picked back up in 2015. We are certainly thankful that the festival has resurfaced and with such an amazing lineup of bands. The lineup includes: Unearth, ZAO, Oh, Sleeper, He Is Legend, Dark Sermon, I Set My Friends On Fire, Microwave, Tides of Man, SycAmour, The Bunny The BearArtifex PereoReckless SerenadeNative SunsMe And The TrinityVatican. We are certain that this will be an amazing festival. The addition of ZAO to the lineup makes the show a must see. The band have been on somewhat of a hiatus and recently released their first album in 7 years. The album ‘The Well-Intentioned Virus’ (read our review here) is a major comeback album for the band, and it’s everything we could have hoped for. The festival will be headlined by Unearth and Zao, but some of the other bands are also top tier must see bands as well. Oh, Sleeper, Dark Sermon and Artifex Pero are bands that will put on an amazing show. It’s not often a festival comes along and has a strong lineup from open to close, but this one does. For more information on the festival you can visit their site www.aurafestsavannah.com and you can also purchase tickets here for the incredibly fair price of $24.80.

FLAW Drummer Corey Sturgill Leaves Band…

12072603_10153274229936347_5260738352306676062_n

Corey Sturgill played his first show with Flaw almost 2 years ago on Jan. 9th, 2015. Corey was brought on board with the band at a time they were beginning their stride to put out an amazing new album after a long hiatus. Corey was a part of the band’s latest release which captured fans both old and new. The band released ‘Divided We Fall’ on August 19th, 2016, their first major release since 2004’s ‘Endangered Species’. Corey stepped up to the drum kit and immediately fit in and became a part of the Flaw Family.  The band has recently been touring heavily. They had a  headlining tour and also toured alongside Dope. The drummer recently showed his thanks and appreciation for the time he spent in the band but announced he was leaving to pursue other options and spend more time with family. While we are sad to see Corey go we certainly appreciate the music he helped create and also enjoyed the times we were able to see him perform live. There has been no official statement from the band, but Corey announced his departure via Facebook on Friday which you can see below. The band has some scheduled shows throughout December, the first of which is December 14th at Ground Zero in Spartanburg, South Carolina. So, Flaw will be on the hunt for a new drummer in the very near future or at least someone to fill the vacancy during those dates through to their New Years Eve show at Trixie’s Entertainment Complex in Louisville, KY.

EYEHATEGOD Frontman Mike IX Williams Needs Liver Transplant And Your Help!

Eye Hate God - Mike IX Williams

Eye Hate God – Mike IX Williams

Eyehategod frontman Mike IX Williams needs a liver transplant and his wife is asking fans to help pay for the life-saving treatment. We have known for a while something was going on with Mike as he stepped back from performing with Eyehategod this year, but his absence wasn’t really explained. Phil Anselmo and Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe have filled in for him at recent Eyehategod shows. Mike’s wife Michelle Maher-Williams has launched a crowdfunding page and given a full update on the singer’s health. She says Williams, 48, remains in hospital and that he will not be given a transplant until a number of medical bills are settled. Mike is not only an icon when it comes to sludge and extreme music, but he is also one of the nicest people you will meet. His wife also revealed that in December of 2014 the vocalist was hospitalized in Texas with a failing liver. Doctors eventually diagnosed Mike with cirrhosis of the liver and after meeting with a specialist, the singer changed his diet and lifestyle and began to see some improvement in his liver function. For people living with a condition like Cirrhosis, products such as nano glutathione are said to help improve the function of the liver. It is also about the individual trying to make a change too. This shows the amount of work that Mike has done to regain his health. Mike now needs your help. We all want to see Mike take the stage again and as of right now he is unable to leave the hospital. If you can help in any way we urge you to donate to this campaign to aid Mike in his medical expenses. Our thoughts are certainly with Mike, his family, and his band as well. However, for people who suffer from Cirrhosis, it can be difficult to get things like health insurance cover, so finding companies like Special Risk Managers, could help people suffering from this condition to get the healthcare they need.

UPDATE: The goal for the Crowdfunding Campaign has now been met, but everything additional stills helps as he will have many more expenses before leaving the hospital.

You can visit the Crowdfunding page here and show your support with a donation.

music-stone-temple-pilots

It was reported yesterday that STONE TEMPLE PILOTS out of thousands of auditions had chosen X Factor season three runner-up Jeff Gutt, who now goes by his full name, Jeffrey Adam Gutt as the bands new frontman. The report came from a source confirmed to Entertainment Tonight. The band hadn’t made an official announcement at the time this story was published. Gutt also made an appearance on season 2 as well but was cut during the bootcamp round. Gutt was the singer of the California based nu-metal band Dry Cell. The band was active from 1998-2005 and then again from 2008-2010. STONE TEMPLE PILOTS’ rep has made the following statement to ET as of today. “The band has been rehearsing with several singers over the past few weeks.” So the wait is not over, and the band has not made a final decision on who will become the next singer of the illustrious band. Whoever gets the gig has some big shoes to fill replacing original singer Scott Weiland, and also former singer Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. The band has been in search of a new singer since February of 2015. Currently we are just few weeks away from the one year anniversary of Weiland passing on December 4th. Continue reading
