MESHUGGAH Announce 2018 North American Tour With CODE ORANGE And TOOTHGRINDER!

Swedish extreme tech-metal pioneers Meshuggah have announced a 2018 North American tour with special guests Code Orange and Toothgrinder. The 6-show tour will kick off at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC on January 23rd and will make stops in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco before concluding at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on January 29th! Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday, December 8th at 1 PM EST, purchase here. Following the 6-show trek, Meshuggah will perform at the 70,000 Tons Of Metal Cruise alongside Kreator, Exhumed, Sepultura, Goatwhore, Internal Bleeding and many, many more. How about that for a new year high?

Meshuggah are touring in support of their highly acclaimed eighth studio album ‘The Violent Sleep of Reason’ which debuted at #17 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 chart and landed at #9 on the Canadian Top Current Albums chart. The record finds Meshuggah “building upon their legacy for fearless metal sculpting within the context of extreme metal, but also recapturing some of the magic and excitement specifically within the aspect of performance, finding flow and groove that would be a challenge for any lesser band to locate, given such technical geometric madness at mischievous hand.” It is no surprising that their first single “Clockworks” secured the band their first Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance”. If you haven’t already picked up a copy of ‘The Violent Sleep of Reason’ get one here

Fellow Grammy award nominees Code Orange have had an incredible year, with their experimental LP ‘Forever’ included in Rolling Stones “Best Albums of 2017”, while The Fader featured Code Orange as one of their “13 Artists You Need To Know About In 2017”. Alongside Meshuggah, Code Oranges single “Forever” was also nominated for “Best Metal Performance”. Joining them both is New Jersey quintet Toothgrinder, who will be touring with their recent 2017 full-length ‘Phantom Amour’ released via Spinefarm Records. Having been dubbed “One’s to watch” by Revolver Magazine after 2015’s ‘Nocturnal Masquerade’, the band has already toured in support of Killswitch Engage, Periphery, Sikth, CHON, and more. You may have even seen drummer Wills Weller before when he made a hilarious cameo appearance in the Martin Scorsese-produced HBO series Vinyl, creating mayhem with an oceanside show as frontman for the fictional Pink Fairies!
