The Metal Cowboy himself, Ron Keel, joins the Talk Toomey Podcast. This was a great interview recorded at the Nashville Rock N Pod Expo. Ron and I talk about his Nashville roots and the early days of Steeler. Ron talks about his transition from rock to country and back. We discuss his interviewing Garth Brooks and end with some Yngwie Malmsteen talk.
In the first of a series of Rock N Pod Expo interviews, I speak with the legendary Eerie Von. Eerie was the original bass player of Danzig and Samhain. Eerie and I discuss the backstory to the debut Danzig album. Eerie talks about the formation of the band, the recording of the album and their punk and metal backgrounds. Truly an honor to speak with Eerie.

I took a trip to Nashville this week to talk to Gene Hoglan. We sat down before the Slayer show at the Municipal Auditorium. Gene and I discuss the art of filling in for a band last minute, Charlie Benante’s dumming style and his history in Dark (not Death Angel) Angel. Gene talked about his time in Fear Factory. We also went over the inspiration and execution of the art available at genehoglanart.com.
On this special episode of Talk Toomey, Bobby Burns and I remember Jason J-Sin Luttrell. Bobby talks about his early day with Jason and starting Primer 55. We share some of our favorite moments on the road with our late singer. Jason was truly one of a kind.

Hanno and I talk about his living in America for awhile, European festivals and the foreign exchange student I hung out with in high school.
And finally, Richie Cavalera of Incite calls in to talk about the upcoming “Burn N Shred” tour. Richie also discusses their new album that is due in January, being a Cavalera and recording with Steve Evetts.
