TANKARD Release Title Track Off The Upcoming Record [Official Music Video]

Teutonic thrash metal giants TANKARD from the holy land of Germany has released their second single, which also happens to be the title track, “One Foot In The Grave” off their new upcoming new album of the same name. The album, One Foot In The Grave“, coming out on June 2nd, 2017, via Nuclear Blast Records, will be their 17th feather addition on their massive discography. One of the ‘Big Four of Teutonic Thrash’ in the German scene, TANKARD have been consistent and a flag bearer in their genre among the other likes of Kreator, Sodom and Destruction. Singing about alcohol since their inception they have a massive fan following all over the world, all singing and headbanging in the glory and name of alcohol in an unison. Even after three decades of thrashing around, wasted concerts and drenched in beer they have not decided to stop this freak train, which in itself is extremely remarkable and commendable!

Chris Cornell Dead At The Age Of 52

Picture taken at Carolina Rebellion 2017 just weeks before Cornell’s death.

The New York Times has reported that Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog & Audioslave has died as of 5/17/17 in Detroit as stated by his representative Brian Bumbery, he died at the yound age of 52. Brian has stated that the death was ”Sudden and unexpected” and that the family would be ”Working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause”.

It’s very sad to hear this news, realising he actually died moves me quite a lot. You forget how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away. When you have a family as Chris did, it’s so important to have life insurance. Since hearing the news, I have been reading things like this bestow review. You should always have insurance to protect your loved ones in case of a tragic loss of life.

For those of you that don’t know, Chris was born in 1964 in Seattle and started the band Soundgarden just 20 years later. He has been called one of or even the architect of grunge music. He has without a doubt meant a lot for the genre, he was the vocalist of Soundgarden since the beginning of the band and also after they got back together in 2010. Besides that he has been the singer of Audioslave from 2001 till 2007 and he has a solo carrier as well which people may know him of. Soundgarden has been one of the reasons grunge is a thing now and we should be really thankful for that. He moved so many people with his musical style, personality and appearance that many people got inspired to make music just because of Chris so after hearing this sad news I really am devastated.

All my thoughts go to his family, friends and the people he worked with. He may not be longer amongst us but his music will always live on. May Chris Cornell rest peacefully.

BYZANTINE Release New Video For “New Ways to Bear Witness”!

On July 28th, Byzantine will release their new album, ‘The Cicada Tree’, via Metal Blade Records. Heralded as the most underrated band from the New Wave of American Heavy Metal Movement, Byzantine has slowly gained a cult-like following after releasing 5 genre-bending albums. 16 years underground, it’s finally time for the world to hear Byzantine! For a first preview of The Cicada Tree, a new video for the single “New Ways to Bear Witness” (featuring a cameo by Skeletonwitch’s Dustin Boltjes, as well as ex-Byzantine drummer Matt Wolfe) has been launched online. Directed/edited by Holly Siders, the filming of “New Ways to Bear Witness” resulted in Chris “OJ” Ojeda (vocals, rhythm guitar) suffering a concussion. OJ comments about the experience:

“So, we came up with an idea of having our old drummer do a cameo appearance in the music video. Matt Wolfe left the band right before we signed with Metal Blade and had occupied the drum seat for the last 12 years. We felt it was a perfect opportunity to let fans know that we still love Matt and he’s still welcome and important to our band. What’s the best way to have an ousted band member make a cameo? To hit me with a vehicle, of course! We set up the scene and did about 5 or 6 takes of Wolfe hitting me with the vehicle and me rolling off the vehicle. I didn’t know until we wrapped shooting the next day that something was wrong and had a very hard time driving home. I contacted an ER doctor friend of mine who told me I needed to come see him ASAP. After a CT Scan and an EKG, he let me know I had a standard sports type concussion from repeatedly hitting my head during the video shoot. I got 3 days off work and a cool story out of it! Rock!” Continue reading

ACCEPT Reveal New Album Artwork And Japan Tour 2017

In today’s universe of metal, with so many new age bands breaking into the scene, pushing genres and breaking old ones to create new ones, very few classic old school metal bands receive the limelight and keep the strength to survive and move forward. Apart from the ever green Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, one such classic hard rock/heavy metal band that has managed to row through the giant waves of inevitable change is the German classic metal act, ACCEPT. Almost on the verge of turning 40, ACCEPT has belted out undiluted classic German metal one after the other. They are one of my favourite and have always been excellent. As they say a fine old wine tastes better with age. ACCEPT has revealed yet another upcoming album and it’s details, to be out this summer.

POSSESSED To Make A Comeback With New Album After 31 Years

I literally jumped off my seat when I saw my YouTube notification pop up. Try pinching yourself, cause hell yes, this ain’t no dream. It is damn real. POSSESSED, arguably the first death metal band, although there’s always this ceaseless debate whether Chuck Schuldiner’s DEATH should be crowned with that title, but for me POSSESSED has been the pioneers of this extremely raw and rugged genre. After releasing their debut on 1985, ‘Seven Churches’ and then following it up with a quick sophomore ‘Beyond the Gates’ the following year, POSSESSED have been dormant for almost an eternity, well that’s how long you feel when you’re their fan. But thou shalt not wait any longer.  Continue reading

PAGANIZER Release Upcoming Album Details [New Song Stream]

Swedish death metal masters, PAGANIZER who is pretty famous among the death metal legions has been wrecking chaos ever since they arose from the ashes of TERMINAL GRIP in 1998. They are known to play the trademark and classic Swedish Death Metal, a style which was created by veterans such as Entombed, Morbid, At The Gates etc, and like most if not every Swedish Death Metal band they also encapsulate the essential character of the distinct genre, the buzzsaw guitars. It is the trademark sound of most bands hailing from the viking north. Having released nine full-lengths, two best of/compilation albums, three splits and five EPs, they are ready to pulverize the masses with a tenth studio album, adding in to the ever increasing brutality of their warchest. ‘Land Of Weeping Souls‘, their upcoming tenth installment is ready and recorded and is slated for a summer release, on August 5th, 2017, out via Indian record label, Transcending Obscurity. Motörhead Gets New Video Game This Summer!

Even though Lemmy passed away more than a year ago, the legacy of Motörhead will never die. The act is one of the most iconic bands of all time, and it’s not surprising that fans don’t intend to let go of the legend any time soon. There have been no shortage of posthumous records, tribute concerts, memorials, and more dedicated to the kings of speed metal, but one way that the bassist continues to live on is through video games.
