Flaw is just a few days away from kicking off their latest tour. The B.O.L.O. 2016 Tour will begin on January 14th in Sanford, Florida and end on February 1st in Springfield, Missouri. The band will be dominating venues all over the South. The band has been in the studio putting the finishing touches on their highly anticipated upcoming album due out in March. The band also recently signed to Pavement Entertainment. The band has been back at it and active for the past couple years but the album will be the first album released from the band since 2004’s ‘Endangered Species’. The band has unveiled one new song which made it’s rounds in Sirius satellite radio. The song “Bleed Red” shows the band has only got better with age. Fans went crazy for the new track requesting it consistently. If this song is any indication to what to expect from the upcoming album it is going to kick major ass. The band has had several lineup changes in the past but the core of the band has always been Chris Volz, Ryan Jurhs, and Jay Daunt. These 3 musicians are the blood that pumps through the veins of Flaw. Along with them is newly added drummer Corey Sturgill who is a great addition to the band. I also have to add that he was deathly sick at this past years Louder Than Life festival and he still took the stage and played a flawless set.

The band has added label mates Freaks Like Me as direct support on the tour. The group has a great throwback rock sound that will just add to this already amazing tour. They are just the right amount of heavy and melodic to fit in perfectly with Flaw. Of course Flaw is known for their emotional lyrics that reach out and mend your soul. If you are within driving range of one of these dates get out there and support these bands. We will be reviewing the Jacksonville stop on this tour at Jack Rabbits which includes the killer hometown band Immune. Also on the bill that night is The Knowing Within and The Things They Carried. It’s just another addition to an already killer show. So stay tuned as we will have a review for this show and some killer pictures.

It has been very hard to narrow down all the albums released this year into 25 selections and even harder to put them in order. Some of these albums came as a surprise to me and some I just can’t seem to put down, I love each and every one of these albums for some particular reason. If you haven’t heard one or several of these albums I highly suggest you give them a shot. Continue reading

Breaking: Scott Weiland Found Dead

fffffffffffffff

Multiple sites are reporting that Ex-Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver front man Scott Weiland has been found dead on his tour bus. Weiland turned 48 last month. The band was scheduled to play tomorrow in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Many around the industry have speculated that the singer has fallen back to his old ways and drug habits after various poor performances on stage. The singer has battled addiction for years. There has not been a cause of death reported. Guitarist Dave Navarro was one of the first people to tweet out his condolences about the fallen front man. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, fans, and his band mates both past and present.

Rock On The Range Reveals Line Up!

We are very surprised about the lineup. Not saying it’s bad and not saying it’s great we just expected something different. Of course Red Hot Chili Peppers has a great fan base, but I expected someone slightly different. We happened to get about 11-12 bands right in our prediction. Megadeth is a major draw for thrash fans and the festival. Some of the bands lower down the list that are much deserving of stage time are Sevendust, Glorious Sons, and Monster Truck. One of the bands that surprised me was At The Drive In. I have been a longtime fan of the band and even the band that launched out of it The Mars Volta. I had no idea that At The Drive In (ATDI) was even back together, and looking through their Facebook they haven’t made a post since 2013 so this should come as a shock to most. The band is super energetic on stage and should create a lot of buzz after their set. As Motley Crue is just finishing up their ‘final tour” it looks like Nikki Sixx is going to spend more time with his project Sixx: Am. To be honest there isn’t really any filler bands on the list. Each band could hold their own on a smaller scale tour. Clutch, Ghost, Avatar, The Sword, Wilson and others are amazing bands that can easily pack a venue by themselves. I expected a much larger set of headliners but they added a tremendous amount of good bands rather than a couple huge headliners and filler bands. I expect a couple more bands to be added and look for some surprises at the festival.

Rock On The Range 10th Anniversary Predictions!

Facebooktwittermail

logo_x_withdate_ann

The 10th anniversary of Rock On The Range is slowly approaching. Founder of the festival, Danny Wimmer, has had major success with several festivals around the U.S. including Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky, Carolina Rebellion in Charlotte, North Carolina and several others which round out the loudest month of the year during which most of these festivals occur. Rumor has it that Danny will be making an appearance on a radio station and possibly naming some of the headliners or bands that may be gracing the stage for the big anniversary. So just in case he does name some of them, we wanted to make our predictions prior to Monday. The show will take place May 20th, 21st, and 22nd in Columbus, Ohio as it has for several years. JG

As most of you have heard guitarist of the insanely heavy Louisiana band Drysocket was in a car accident a few weeks ago. The accident caused a tear in an artery in the right side of his neck which caused a blood clot to travel to his brain resulting in a stroke. A surgical procedure was done to allow swelling which will occur and to avoid damaging the left side of his brain in this process. He is doing better now and is awake and speaking and giving everyone pure hell like normal. He will have to have some rehab and a long road to recovery but we are glad the axe slayer is making strides towards getting better. We urge you to keep JG and his family and the band in your thoughts and send good vibes his way. Continue reading

40 Below Summer Release New Track “Mangina” [Now Streaming]

New Jersey natives 40 Below Summer released a new song off their upcoming album “Transmission Infrared”. The track entitled “Mangina” and will be on of the tracks on the new album that has a release date scheduled for October 16th. The band reformed in 2011 after initially breaking up in 2006. The last release was “Fire At Zero Gravity” back in 2013. With all the other nu-metal bands currently dominating the airwaves we expect this album to take off. The song sounds as you would expect any 40 Below Summer song to sound. It has aggressive and melodic parts which is what always made the band stand out. The band is just one of many 90’s and 2000’s nu-metal bands re-emerging with new releases. The band is playing some East Coast shows leading up to an album pre-release show on October 10th at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey.
