It was reported yesterday that STONE TEMPLE PILOTS out of thousands of auditions had chosen X Factor season three runner-up Jeff Gutt, who now goes by his full name, Jeffrey Adam Gutt as the bands new frontman. The report came from a source confirmed to Entertainment Tonight. The band hadn’t made an official announcement at the time this story was published. Gutt also made an appearance on season 2 as well but was cut during the bootcamp round. Gutt was the singer of the California based nu-metal band Dry Cell. The band was active from 1998-2005 and then again from 2008-2010. STONE TEMPLE PILOTS’ rephas made the following statement to ET as of today. “The band has been rehearsing with several singers over the past few weeks.” So the wait is not over, and the band has not made a final decision on who will become the next singer of the illustrious band. Whoever gets the gig has some big shoes to fill replacing original singer Scott Weiland, and also former singer Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. The band has been in search of a new singer since February of 2015. Currently we are just few weeks away from the one year anniversary of Weiland passing on December 4th. Continue reading →

And so we continue with our all day (and likely) all night coverage of Metallica’s unprecedented video drop of every single song on their Hardwired…To Self Destruct album due out in two days. This time around, let us introduce “Now That We’re Dead” to you. This beast is directed by HerringandHerring, which represents the partnership of world renowned fashion photographers, DimitriScheblanov and JesperCarlsen, and caters to celebrities from all walks of fame, including the Osbournes and Metallica’s own, LarsUlrich. So far, there has not been one, even mediocre song in the bunch. This is the Metallica we all grew to love! Intense and intelligent; with their trademarked and brutally honest in-your-face attitude. Only Metallica can serve up this level of eardrum rupturing madness and have us consistently begging for more. Cannot wait to see what the hours ahead hold for Metalheadz all over the globe. Hold on tight, this regalia of bone crushing Thrash is nowhere near being finished yet!

Being a fan for over thirty years, I could not be more thrilled with everything put forward so far. Stay tuned! There is much more to come as we are given the rare opportunity to hear the new album, in its entirety, before it is released! Loving this marketing strategy! Freakin’ genius!
We recently reviewed OOLUU’s new album ‘Ophus’. You can read that review here. The band has released a brand new video from that album. The video is for the song “Polyvalence” which is one of the slowed down more emotional tracks on the album. The video was recorded and edited by hX. The video takes an abstract artistic approach to relaying Ooluu’s vision of this song. The video along with the somber melodies of the track work well to truly capture the songs lyrical content. Enjoy the video below and read the lyrics as well. Continue reading →
