Bourbon & Beyond Festival Spotlight: THE RECORD COMPANY

The Record Company will be one of the upcoming acts at this year’s Bourbon and Beyond. The festival now has a new home. It is still in Louisville, Kentucky of course, but will call a new festival grounds home. This year, Bourbon and Beyond will take place at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo. The previous location, Champions Park, had a terrible flood last year and day 2 of Bourbon and Beyond was cancelled. However, to make up for that, Bourbon and Beyond is now a 3-day festival. This means an additional day of bands, bourbon and best friends! How awesome is that? This will be The Record Company’s debut at the Bourbon and Beyond Festival. If you have never had the opportunity to check this band out, prepare yourself to be amazed! With that said, let’s discuss The Record Company.

The Record Company is a 3-piece rock band from Los Angeles, CA. The team of Chris Vos – Vocals, Guitars, Lap Steel, Pedal Steel, Harmonica, Alex Stiff – Bass, Guitars, Piano, Vocals, Marc Cazorla – Drums, Piano, Vocals, brings a unique sound to the table. This trio will make your jaw drop because you would imagine a group of 5 or 6. The Record Company brings a very laid-back groovy type of sound with Alex Stiff’s tremendous bass lines, Chris Vos’s butter melting vocals and Marc Cazorla’s thunderous groove on the drums. Their influences consist of John Lee Hooker, The Stooges and The Rolling Stones. Hearing all three acts in one is pleasing to the ears! They have toured with acts such as John Mayer, B.B. King, Social Distortion, Buddy Guy, Grace Potter, Trombone Shorty and Blackberry Smoke (who will also be at this year’s Bourbon and Beyond). The Record Company got their start in late 2011. Five years later, their first studio album, ‘Give It Back to You’ (2016) was released. Their latest one ‘All of This Life’ (2018) was released and did quite well with around 7,000 sales in the first week. A notable fact about The Record Company is in 2012, their cover of “Love Train” by the O’Jays was used in a Coors Light commercial, which was before the band was widely known, so it put their music in front of a lot of potential new fans. Also, their song “Baby I’m Broken” was featured on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Season 14, Episode 15: Love for Sale. That was a big step to have one of their own songs on a hit TV show. The Record Company is scheduled to play the first day of Bourbon and Beyond Friday, September 20th. This is one act you do not want to miss! They will have you moving and grooving Louisville, KY! That’s no lie! I am positive they will be put on your playlist. No doubt about it! Pick up your tickets here.
