Southern rock stars SCATTERED HAMLET who self describe their metal as “honky tonky metal” and are touring machines are back on the road for another “honky tonky” tour. “Swamp Rebel Machine” was their latest effort and got released last year and they’re out yet again to give y’all some taste of their fine blended, tasty southern rock. The album was well received by Billboard Heatseeker Chart and critics. With videos from songs like ‘Swamp Rebel Machine‘ and ‘White Trash‘, they further solidify the fact that they’re the best at what they do always! The summer tour will feature a festival appearance at Wisconsin’s Rock Fest XVII. SCATTERED HAMLET will appear at Rockfest July 14, 2017 along with CLUTCH, TOM KEIFER, TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION and AVENGED SEVENFOLD.
California post hardcore/sludge eccentrics HORSENECK are kicking off a short West Coast tour today, i.e. 24th June. The band consists of current and past members of WILL HAVEN and CHELSEA WOLFE. The Mini-Van Hell Ride trek will commence in Los Angeles, California and run through July 1st in Reno, Nevada.
“HORSENECK is embarking on an eight-stop Heavy Trip world tour which is contained almost entirely in California,” issues the band of their latest west coast voyage. “Booze, blues, and dudes (and a chick) are gonna riff up California (and Nevada). This tour is going to be so loud, you can hear us from the next venue. Come see us at a stop near you, the mini-van might make it.”
The band recently issued two more tour trailers, you can also view the hilarious video for “Michael Caine” from their Heavy Trip offering, down below.
“This track is about the feeling you get after a hard party night. Like next level hard party night. When it doesn’t stop, and maybe you’ve made some horrible decisions, but you keep going and going and going. You kind of forget who you are at times. You wake up the next day and say I will never do that again…. but we all know you’re lying. We all do it again. The video was just a fun way to show the party animal in all of us.”, said the band when asked about the song.
BLIND GUARDIAN recently announced that they are going to release a live album entitled, ‘Live Beyond The Spheres‘ after just two years of releasing their last studio album, ‘Beyond The Red Mirror’ in 2015. The live album will actually be a compilation of their best tracks into one show taken from 40 different concerts recorded during their European Tour in 2015, which surprisingly also happens to be the first BLIND GUARDIAN live album in almost 15 years. It promises to be an exhilarating indulgence in what could possibly turn out to be one of the best power metal live albums. The live album will contain 22 tracks, encompassing timeless hits like ‘The Bard’s Song (In The Forest)‘, ‘Valhalla‘ and ‘Mirror Mirror‘, to rather rarely performed songs like ‘And There Was Silence’. The record will be purchasable as a 3CD-digipak as well as a 4LP-box-set.
Hardcore punk or sludge metal legends THE MELVINS are adding one more feather to their long list of humongous catalogue. They are releasing a double album ‘A Walk With Love & Death‘ on July 7 via Ipecac Recordings, and with that going on THE MELVINS are streaming a new song, ‘What’s Wrong With You‘ off the same album.
The song features vocals from Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!), who is part of the band’s current recording and touring line-up, as well as That Dog‘s Anna Waronker.
“We love Steven! ‘What’s Wrong with You’ is a great addition to our long Melvins catalog,” proclaims Buzz Osborne. “There’s no other song on this record that sounds like it and that’s what makes it so cool!”, he further adds.
Every metalhead’s favourite television series has to be Metalocalypse, which is unfortunately well over for about four years now. It was one tough goodbye to one of the very few metal related television series we ever had. Still nostalgic about it ? Hold on there, we’ve got some good news up your feed, BRENDAN SMALL, the brain child and the man behind the epic television series Metalocalypse is back. Well, not with something along his previous lines, but with a pretty cool death metal song from his upcoming solo album, ‘Galaktikon II: Become The Storm‘. His new solo album shall see the light of the day on August 25th, via Megaforce Records. Just a few hours ago, the man himself took the curtains off his new song, ‘My Name Is Murder‘. DETHKLOK resemblance can be found in the song. Or not ? Check it out below and be your own judge. Continue reading
Stoners and death metallers from Richmond, VA, CANNABIS CORPSE have made it official that they are soon going to release their fourth full length studio effort this year in the month of September, on 8th Friday, out via Season Of Mist. The album is funnily named ‘Left Hand Pass‘ as a pun after ENTOMBED‘s ground breaking debut album ‘Left Hand Path‘. CANNABIS CORPSE have always made funny parodic album names or song names, which I think is pretty hysterical and is an unique knack that lands them the special place in their fans’ hearts. The group formed just over a decade ago and features members from crossover thrashers, MUNICIPAL WASTE and fellow death metal comrades SIX FEET UNDER, are back again to stir shit up and impale you with another round of weed induced bone rattling death metal high, courtesy of their new single, ‘Chronic Breed‘(see video below). The new track sounds like a monster. Take a blunt, sit back and listen to some brutal death metal sonic monstrosity! Continue reading
Stockholm based Swedish heavy metal/stoner metal trio GRAND MAGUS will be out touring in support of their latest album, ‘Sword Songs‘ which was just released over a year ago via Nuclear Blast on the May 13th, 2016. Taking the classic heavy metal sound and throwing in some doom/stoner metal and power metal, GRAND MAGUS has been doing pretty good, as it is evident on their latest studio album. It has been received well by the critics and also saw it feature on many year end list for best albums last year. The band have been touring ever since they let their album out of the barn. They let the audience have the first glimpse of their new songs live when they joined forces with AMON AMARTH and TESTAMENT on the fomer’s ‘Jomsviking European Tour’ which was one hell of an extensive touring they went through last winter in Europe. Polish death metallers DECAPITATED are very well known in the death metal circuit and have raised hell where ever they have set their blasphemous foots on. With the seventh album, ‘Anticult‘ lurking just around the corner, to be released on Nuclear Blast Records on July 7th this year, the heavy weights have released yet another follow up official music video to ‘Never‘, from their upcoming album, which is ‘Earth Scar‘. With the release of their last record just over three years ago, ‘Blood Mantra‘, which was an intense hit, it is evident that DECAPITATED are on top of their game now. The two already released singles sound crushing and groove oriented as hell, I am already rooting in for this album. How about you ? Continue reading
Last week when we barraged CELLAR DARLING with heaps of praise on their new and debut record on our album review, little did we came to any conclusion that the Swiss trio will be unveiling another brand new music video off ‘This Is The Sound‘. You can go and check out the review here. After having released three music videos since last year when they began recording their new album, they have dropped another beautiful music video from the first song of the album, ‘Avalanche‘ which I think is one of the most stand out tracks on this entire album. The latest single ‘Avalanche‘ promotes their highly anticipated debut album ‘This Is The Sound‘, due to be released on Nuclear Blast Records in just a week from now, on June 30th 2017. KADAVAR, pretty much a new force on the psychedelic rock and stoner rock block, from Berlin, Deutschland have returned again with a new album in quick succession after their previous album, ‘Berlin‘ released in 2015, which also happens to be the their sophomore album under Nuclear Blast Records. KADAVAR have announced the details for their upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Rough Times‘. The album will be released on September 29th via Nuclear Blast.
Commented drummer Tiger: “The process of making this record was quite intense. I kind of went through my inner hell. Working all day, you’re fine but at night all these things were torturing me. The new songs are crazy and absurd sometimes, but also serious and very personal. It’s the ambiguity that holds ‘Rough Times‘ together. Every song evolved from a certain strong feeling.” Continue reading
