GRETA VAN FLEET Announces Initial North American Tour Dates For 2018!

GRETA VAN FLEET, who are being dubbed as the second Led Zeppelin, took the 2017 music scene by storm with its dynamic rock ‘n’ roll debut single “Highway Tune” claiming the #1 spot at Rock Radio for five consecutive weeks, amassing 10-million-plus Spotify plays and 6.8-million YouTube views in 2017 alone, selling out every single one of its headline dates in advance, and ending up on many year album top album list, will kick off its 2018 tour schedule at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Friday, April 13.  The band’s itinerary will include a slew of other major outdoor music festivals as well as headline dates that will see them playing to larger-capacity venues and multiple nights in some cities.  Five of the dates – Houston, Dallas, Nashville and two nights in Detroit – went on sale last week and all sold out in under 15-minutes. Tickets for GRETA VAN FLEET‘s headline dates for this leg go on sale to the public this Friday, January 26.

While rumors are still flying thick and fast in the media, Tom Angelripper has already announced the new line-up of his band SODOM: Husky (ASPHYX, DESASTER) is set to man the drum kit, Frank Blackfire (ex-SODOM, ex-Kreator, FRANK BLACKFIRE, ASSASSIN) and Yorck Segatz (BEYONDITION) have been enlisted on guitars. Sodom have already released seminal albums such as ‘Persecution Mania‘, the live cut ‘Mortal Way Of Live‘ and the highly successful ‘Agent Orange‘ with Frank Blackfire. As he had hinted at the beginning of the year, Tom has opted for a line-up featuring two guitarists, an absolute novelty for Sodom. “Two guitarists allow us much more possibilities live, so we will be able to play tracks in future that we weren’t able to perform as a trio,” the SODOM vocalist/bassist explains his motives. In line with these new possibilities, the thrash act has already started to put together a set list for the upcoming shows with all important classics as well as rare numbers that had never or only rarely been heard at their gigs. Says Tom: “I can promise that we will really let it rip in future.”

They are till this date one of the prime and most important black metal bands in the world to have come out of the unholy grounds from up north. As they inch closer to three decades of hard hitting black metal, the duo are ready shroud the entire United States with black clouds on their final US run this spring in support of their latest studio album, ‘Deep Calleth Upon Deep‘.

French death-grinders BENIGHTED have released a new video for the track “Leatherface“. “Leatherface” is the second video taken from BENIGHTED‘s latest album, ‘Necrobreed‘. 

The gruesome video, produced by Kick your Eyes Productions, features Cecylia Suicide as a serial killer harboring distinct personalities.

BENIGHTED vocalist Julien Truchan comments about the music video, “We are proud and stoked to unleash this new creepy episode of our ‘Necrobreed’ story in the shape of a music video for the track ‘Leatherface’! Metal and beer share an intimate bond, just like your customary combo dose of nachos and cheese, popcorn and movies and many other inseparable flings. It rather shares such a level of belonging to each other that German thrashers TANKARD are credited for inventing the term “Beer Metal”, thanks to their love for the fermented magic potion. If you’re at a metal fest and you’re not cracking open a cold one with your lads you’re not really doing it right!

So keeping in mind IRON MAIDEN‘s Trooper beer success and attempting to recreate the craze of another heavy metal beer, the metal legends have teamed up again with Robinsons who were also responsible for Trooper’s feat. This time it’s a light version with alcohol content much less than the Trooper, a unique golden English ale with a 4.1% ABV. Guitarist Alfred Morris III Of IRON MAN Has Passed Away

Maryland based doom metal band IRON MAN guitarist Alfred Morris III is unfortunately no longer with us. He passed away this morning at the age of 60. Their Facebook page confirms the same news and the cause of death  is unclear at this time. Alfred being one of the founding members, carved out some of the most ghastly doom riffs during his time in the band. He managed guitar duties on most of the band’s studio recordings. He has also showcased his abilities on the keyboard on the band’s 1993 debut, ‘Black Night‘ and the subsequent year’s sophomore effort,’The Passage‘.

Alfred Morris III was also involved in a different band called FORCE with whom he recorded just their debut EP and their eponymous debut full length in 1981 and 1991, respectively.

LETHAL INJEKTION takes heavy influences from artists like LINKIN PARK, PAPA ROACH, TECH N9NE, STAIND, KORN, DISTURBED.

The band released their highly anticipated sophomore release “Judgement Night” on September 15, 2017 via RuffLife Recordz, and have entered into a mutual partnership agreement with Zombie Shark Records, home to bands such as KEYCHAIN, DIRTY MACHINE, NoSelf, and RIKSHA.

SOULFLY/CAVALERA CONSPIRACY guitarist Marc Rizzo has set the release date for his new LP ‘Rotation‘, in stores March 30th via Combat Records/EMP LABEL GROUP/AMPED in North America, and COMBAT/SPV in Europe. ‘Rotation‘ is the 4th solo release for Rizzo, following 2004’s ‘Colossal Myopia‘, 2006’s ‘The Ultimate Devotion‘ (both released by legendary shred label Shrapnel), and the independently released 2010 LP LEGIONNAIRE.
