About Rattlehead

Hi, Rattlehead here. I'm from India, and I'm obsessed with metal of all sub-genres but mostly into thrash and death. I also love other genres, like jazz, funk, rock, some punk, a bit of blues, some country, but well, metal is where I feel at home. I'm always on the run discovering new music. Fanboying Megadeth since I was 13. Love to talk about metal, sports and a little bit of everything here and there. I also love dissing your god, I love food, seeing metal gigs, traveling and also a metal merch and record collector. I hope you like what I write and the music I suggest you. Please do share if you like. Cheers and stay heavy \m/

Metal and tattoo, it’s a perfect marriage isn’t it? Yes; this July Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival will bring to you the ultimate summer holiday getaway. It is a a one-of-a-kind destination event that presents to you heavy and hard rock music from over 30+ plus bands on two stages, with some big names from the industry, such as the likes of RISE AGAINST, A DAY TO REMEMBER, BUSH, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, CLUTCH and many more. The inaugural Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival will take place on a perfect sunny weekend,  July 13, 14 and 15 in Mansfield, Ohio. You might ask a prison for a venue? Why not? It’s metal to the bone after all. The venue is the Historic Ohio State Reformatory (100 Reformatory Rd), the massive, awe-inspiring locale is recognized primarily as one of the most haunted buildings in the country. Remember the Shawshank Prison used in the 1994 blockbuster “Shawshank Redemption“? It was this very location that was used as a filming location for the movie, starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. Album Review: RIVERS OF NIHIL – ‘Where Owls Know My Name’ [Track Streams]

The mystery that shrouds any band’s upcoming album, especially of a band that is well versed with diversity in their music, is certainly not nonchalant. I wasn’t aware RIVERS OF NIHIL would be coming up with their third studio effort, ‘Where Owls Know My Name‘ this year until a few weeks back. As soon as the news dawned upon my conscience, I knew I had to request the album for a review, cause I remember their 2015 album, ‘Monarchy‘ had impressed me so much, it left me wanting for more. Releasing on Metal Blade Records this 16th, RIVERS OF NIHIL have set the bar high when it comes to discovering uncharted territories that transcends your musical comfort zone. One of the most recently emerging and forward thinking artist in the metal sphere, the band has always managed to drop jaws with their progressive yet ferocious music. Not to forget, the wide array of experimentation the band has delved in their work, which makes RIVERS OF NIHIL truly an artistically elite band. So, with all the teasing I just did, do I make it look like ‘Where Owls Know My Name‘ easily surpasses what its predecessor achieved? Let’s find out!

ROTTEN SOUND Announce EP / New Track Streaming!

What started in the early 80s in the UK scene with genre flag bearers Napalm Death, grindcore has really evolved and sustained a long period of time. Following 2016’s full length, ‘Abuse To Suffer‘, the EP whose title, ‘Suffer To Abuse‘ is a witty take on their preceding studio album. The new mini LP will be released worldwide on May 18th in North America (April 13th in Europe). Pre-orders for ‘Suffer To Abuse‘ are available on a numbered, limited edition “freestyle” mini CD, and 12″ mini LP with a B-side etching at the Season of Mist E-Shop.
