Zack De La Rocha Debuts New Song ‘Digging For Windows’ [Streaming]

11. Zach de la Rocha from Rage Against the Machine.

News broke not so long ago about Prophets Of Rage, which features all the members of Rage Against The Machine except Zack. On vocals is Cypress Hill’s B-Real and Chuck D of Public Enemy. When the symbols started showing up people knew it was something related to RATM, but were left to wonder exactly what it was. Many of us kept our fingers crossed that the original RATM was reuniting. It wasn’t that far fetched. I mean Guns N Roses and The Misfits both have reunited this year. Tom Morello stated in an interview that they spoke with Zack prior to the formation and received his blessing to proceed. Tom also stated that Zack was working on his own music currently. The anticipation since then has been overwhelming, not knowing when Zack would release new material. That time came yesterday as he released his brand new song ‘Digging For Windows’. The song showcases Zack’s powerful and groove filled vocals along with backing beats. The power in his vocals is something that can’t be copied or imitated. There is only one Zack De La Rocha; and he is back. While we all may wish the band was back together this is the next best thing. We have Zack doing his own thing and the other guys doing Prophets of Rage. In addition to that RATM/Prophets of Rage bassist Tim Commerford has also formed another project called Wakrat, which is creative, fresh and amazing.  Continue reading

Singer/Guitarist Eric Croft

Crimson Croft was formed in Glasgow, Kentucky in December of 2014. Founding member Eric Croft is no new comer to music. His various music projects makes him a veteran musician. Crimson Croft is comprised of vocalist Eric Croft & drummer Nick Gabow of Circled In Black. The band formed when Circled In Black went on a long & still lasting hiatus due to issues of extensive travel between band members. The band performs in a two piece & sometimes three piece set with bass player Ricky Hodge. They have released material on various online mediums such as Bandcamp, Reverbnation, YouTube, and Soundcloud. They have graced stages at various venues around Bowling Green, Ky, Louisville, Ky & Nashville, Tn. They often perform with various other acts such as Chest Rockwell, Heron & Crane, The Creatures and All Deeds Done. Eric is a master when it comes to lyrics and has played in bands since his teens, and his romance with words came long before that. His way with words allows his darkest revelations to escape his soul and into our ears.  We were lucky enough to speak with Eric about his music, influence and some other tid bits of information. Interview with WOE OF TYRANTS Vocalist Chris Catanzaro!

1934278_1168190813611_5521361_n

The Ohio based band Woe Of Tyrants have been on an extended hiatus. Their last album was released over 6 years ago, but what they done in the past has left a lasting impression on anyone who has heard their music. The band released their first album ‘Behold The Lion’ in 2007 and quickly garnered the attention of Metal Blade Records. Their next release ‘Kingdom of Might’ would be their Metal Blade debut in 2009. That album has long been a prime example of what most bands set forth to do and fail. The album is one of the best metal album put out in the last decade. The song “Break the Fangs of the Wicked” is the definitive metal song that jams everything your ears crave in less than 5 minutes. If you are unfamiliar with the band please use that song as your welcome package, because once you hear it you’ll be a fan. Once that album released it was getting worldwide attention and the band was hand selected to join Overkill’s 25th Anniversary Tour along side Vader, God Dethroned, Warbringer, Evile and of course the might Overkill. The band has found a way to meld thrash, and death metal in flawless fashion. Their 3rd release ‘Threnody’ (2010) is their last release as of now. The band however isn’t finished. The band has recently started up the engine of Woe and is in the process of creating new music. The creatively talented group couldn’t keep their hands idle any longer. They recently announced they are back together, practicing and plan to release new music in the not so far away future. We got the opportunity to speak with vocalist Chris Catanzaro and find out what’s going on with the untamed beast that is WOE OF TYRANTS! Continue reading

Rock N Roll was alive and well Friday night in Pikeville, Kentucky. The coal mining town doesn’t often see kick ass rock bands like Ted Nugent and Grimsley Rose. The town usually sways more toward country and bluegrass when it comes to music. But not on this faithful night. The crowd was pumped before the first note was struck at the East Kentucky Exposition Center. Fifth Freedom “Heartbreak & Hellfire” Review!

A few months ago I let you know about a band that is bringing good old fashioned rock n roll back to its rightful place at the top. Fifth Freedom call Portland, Maine home, but their roots are most certainly in the South. The band has the type of guitar work that will bring you to your knees. The term “Fifth Freedom” is a permit to disregard to any law to accomplish the mission, and that’s exactly what the band does. Regardless what is popular the band has set its sights on their sound, put their hearts into it and journeyed forward. As a listener and fan I’m already thankful for what they have done for music. They are already reaping the rewards as they have an incredible fan base both in their home state and across the country. The band recently released their sophomore record “Heartbreak & Hellfire”, a follow up to their self-titled debut from 2014. The album was recorded with Jon Wyman at The Halo Studios and mastered by Grammy Award winning mastering engineer, Adam Ayan and the renowned Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, Maine. The songs on the album are a window into frontman Alan Jones’s soul. The heart wrenching and powerful lyrics play right along with the bluesy American rock n roll sound they have so gracefully created. Continue reading
